New York Film Music Foundation Inc is a 501(c)3 nonprofit incubator that provides audio editing and production facilities and services at a professional level for emerging musicians, audio engineers and filmmakers. It fosters the creative economy of the State of New York by providing a place for artists to have their work produced and distributed, to meet with other artists and to learn about trends in audio and video editing for the Web and other means of digital distribution.
NYFMF proposes to manage 4–12,000 square feet of office space which caters to supplying the film and music industries a much needed production office space that caters to their dynamic needs. Film productions need short term flexible work space that is extremely difficult to find in New York’s hyper competitive office market. At the same time, rising rents are pushing recording artists, producers and songwriters further out into the boroughs after graduating and sometimes out of New York City as a whole.
Created by in-house architect Liyang Wang, this animation and the below photos depict the proposed plan for the NYFMF Film Studio in NYC.
NYFMF is currently accepting donations that will benefit the development of our first group of artists. Donations will also assist the creation of our studio in Chelsea, infrastructure needed to empower the next generation of musicians and filmmakers in New York. NYFMF is exempt from federal income tax under internal revenue code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). Donors can deduct contributions they make under IRC Section 170.
